CUSD Fiscal Stabilization Plan – Survey #13

My name is Long Jiao, and as a member of the Cupertino Union School District (CUSD) Board of Education, I am dedicated to building stronger connections with our community through transparent communication and feedback opportunities. CUSD is navigating significant budget challenges, including a $31+ million deficit in FY 2024-2025 and a projected $11+ million shortfall in FY 2025-2026. At the October 30, 2025, Board Advance meeting, staff outlined initial fiscal stabilization proposals focused on middle school electives and Transitional Kindergarten (TK) adjustments to achieve $4–5 million in targeted savings. These aim to preserve core programs while addressing enrollment declines and funding gaps. For full background, click here.
