My name is Long Jiao, and I am running for the CUSD board. I am here to discuss the important rights of parents and guardians as outlined in California Education Code 49091.10.
Parents have the right to inspect instructional materials and observe classroom instruction and school activities involving their children. It is essential that our schools fully cooperate with these rights to foster transparency and trust within our community.
Furthermore, all school settings and materials provided by schools or teachers must adhere to teaching guidelines and be age-appropriate. Everything in the school environment, including decorations, whether directly or indirectly, serves an educational purpose. Therefore, it is crucial that we ensure all aspects of our schools conform to these guidelines.
